The Circle of Color Book Club of Jackson Mississippi recognized Carmila Chinn Hampton Legacy Foundation Founder, Jackie Chinn Hill and Board Member, Teresa Graham for sharing success tips at their 1st annual “It’s A Girl Thing” Conference, held April 30, 2016 at the Margaret Walker Alexander Library. Jackie shared information regarding attire for casual, business as well as evening events. Teresa expressed to the teens how important it was for them to stay in school and to build a foundation for their career. Teresa’s youthfulness and positive attitude was noted as being very important to the participants. The Circle of Color Book Club was founded in 2002 by two avid readers, Margaret Bullocks-Matory and Yvonne R. Steel. The book club was founded “to share our love of reading African-American literature with others through fun and lively discussions aimed at enriching our lifelong cultural education through books.”
